The first of its kind, the goal of the Turkish Skateboarding Championships contest series was to scope out Turkey’s top skater worthy of representing Turkey at the Kimberley Diamond Cup Skateboarding World Championships this October. With 2 qualifying events, Antalya on 9 May and Istanbul on 23 May, 8 skaters from each event would advance to compete in the finals on 24 May for a shot at the title of Turkish Champ, some cash, and a trip to South Africa.
The top 16 skaters went at it in a jam format contest to narrow it down to the top 8 skaters of whom would go head-to-head in the final round. In the end, it was Adem Ustaoğlu taking out Yusuf Duran for the 2000TL and a trip to Kimberley, South Africa. The always-charging Ali Osman Ensar was right behind in 3rd place.
Thanks to our sponsors who helped make the event possible: Cino Skateparks, Redbull, Noire Skateboards, and X4Tune Skateshop. Thanks to Redbull for providing sound and our guest DJ Anill for keeping the tunes rolling. Big thanks to Tuncay from X4Tune for being our emcee for all 3 events. Thanks to Cenk Kulioglu and Mansur Asrar for manning the judging booth and huge thanks to Corey Watson and Ocelot Lurgutre for handling the logistics and making sure things went down smoothly.
